HLTH 1020-Foundations of Nutrition

 For this class, I researched and wrote a paper on the causes and treatments for individuals diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.  I focused both on current Western medicine practices as well as natural treatments, including the use of a fine tuned diet and exercise.

 Reflection:

I decided to research ADHD because it is a disease that runs in my family.  Two of my three children, as well as my husband, have been diagnosed.  Through the studies and articles I read, and the knowledge I gained of nutrition through reading the course textbook, I feel better informed about treatment options and the specific foods and activities that the ADHD patient can benefit from.
